I've been single now for a little while and I'm really not even going on dates. I'm really starting to think there's something wrong with me. Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm 31, black, 5'11, slender, college educated with a good job. I've been in 2 long term relationships. I'm pretty friendly and open, I'll talk to anybody.

I decided to ask a couple of my male co-workers, that I've worked with for years, their opinions and they said they were surprised I was single, they assumed I was in a relationship. When I asked why they thought this, they just looked at each smiling. What were they smiling about? I never got an answer. I've never really talked about being in a relationship at work and my boyfriends have never even been to my work. And I flirt, well at least I think I flirt.

I've recently started trying to approach men myself and they will smile and talk to me but that's as far as they will go. They never ask for my number.

I travel to Texas and North Carolina for work and when I'm there men constantly approach me and ask me out and it's black and white men. Am I just not what Seattle men like?

Seattle Freeze. Look it up. It's hard around here. As a male I have the same problem, but women have the same problems too which surprises me. My sister and her friends are also single and cannot easily get dates. There are good men out there just keep your head up and don't give up (I about have but am trying to fight it) Online dating is BIG here, so maybe go that route? (Too many geeks in this area) LOL
