Totally unacceptable under any circumstances.
I agree the programing was influenced by society, I dont know about the slapping then making out. I watch TV land that has old shows like leave it beaver, andy griffith, dick van dyke. You notice how married couples sleep in seperate beds.

The opposite is intended - the society is supposed to be influenced by the media! And it is!

It definately is now, but Im not so sure that was much the case in the 40s and 50s going by TV shows anyway. Movies more so because they generally depicted a hero.

I guess thats why I dont have TV at home. The last video I watched, im embarrassed to say, was ma and pa kettle.
