Ditto.
Or for my family members to read the things I've written about them, or for (god forbid) some weirdo to start stalking me. Or for someone who doesn't like me to deface my picture and begin posting it all over the internet.

There are many possible risks involved in posting one's picture on a public internet forum, and few benefits.
What are the benefits? Getting an ego boost because a couple of people respond with, "Oooh, you're pretty"?

Number one, they say that to every female who posts a pic, no matter what she looks like, and number two, I can just as easily get the ego boost via PM.

I kind of agree here. I've posted about my SO's family members in the past and not necessarily complemetary. I have my city listed in my profile, I'm even debating taking that out as well.

Besides, I don't want to scare the members of CD with my grill

Exactly!

Mr. Cat has pictures of his whole family in his profile. I don't even want to imagine what would happen if his wife comes across this forum....

If that happens then well.

Guess I'll have to start sending out friend requests to see pictures.

I used to have mine in my profile, but don't see a need to keep in there on a permanent basis.

If online stupid pictures have become more important than marriages to some, guess I'll go with "oh, well," too...

I'm on so many social networking sites, I doubt posting my picture here will hurt.

Me on DH's head at Christmas.

Okay, the question was "What do you look like?" and not "post your photo" and hence, I will simply explain what I look like. Take Jon Secada, shave his head and give him goatee, and that's essentially what I look like
