You can ask 25 women this and probably get 25 different answers. It will also depend on the womans background as to what she will think a "real" man is.
A country woman - will say a real man is one who helps feed the horses and works hard on the farm. He's wears jeans, cowboy boots and cowboy hat. Gets dirty while out wrasslin' sheep. A real man to her is overweight, sweaty and only drives and drink American. During those long stretches of unemployment, he worked odd jobs here and there to make ends meet. He chews tobacco and likes guns and has friends in the klan but he's not a member. He also doesnt mind that she's 40-75lbs overweight and hasnt shaved/trimed her private areas ever.
A South Central LA black chick - will say a real man is one who steps up and takes care of all his children by paying their mothers the child support on time. Buying diapers and stuff. Will also be down to fight when another man steps up and insults his manhood. A real man keeps it real 1,000,000% yo.
A normal city woman - will say that a real man is cultured and refined. Has advanced degree(s), loves art exhibits and going to see the philharmonic. Opens the doors for a lady and never wears hats indoors. He's sensitive and cries at movies yet still is warm and manly enough to stand up for what is right.
A tatted up chick - will say that a real man isnt afraid to get his neck tattoo'd and likes to ride motorcycles and smoke cigarettes. Was able to overcome meth addition and isnt afraid to admit that he was in rehab. He thinks that ALL the "Rock Of Love Girls" are hot and his dream job is touring with a band or being a roadie lifting heavy stuff. A real man to her is one who winces one eye and closes the other while he takes a puff of a cigarette then follows it with a whisky shot and he's always sure to have a cuss word in every sentence.

Yeah, ok, as anything else in life there are different opinions from different kinds of people. But I guess the honest, devoted and loving part holds true regardless of the kind of woman answering. Respect is what people want from other people in general, be they males or females. And honesty and devotion have much to do with offering respect.
Strictly my opinion. A true man is honest, with others and himself, about his feelings, thoughts, actions, everything. He is also pretty rational (actually thinks things through before doing something). Doesn't play the 'I'm a man so I'm supposed to be tough/lack emotions/never get hurt routine'.
It's just plain humiliating to sit next to a dude, whose feelings have been hurt (non-intentionally), and you don't even know because he will definately not tell you, which leads to a huuuuge confusion (that could be avoided with 5-6 words).
Not to mention when a guy is really dieing to be with you and he acts tough and un-interested. So you just understand that he's not interested.
An aging jaded woman who's been with nothing but jerks - Just wants a man who is faithful and not into playing any games. A man who loves her cats, doesnt drink too much and has a spiritual side. She doesnt care about anything else. She just wants to a man who will not cheat, lie or break promises.
New Age woman - says a good man is one with a strong aura. One who's chakras (especially third eye) are wide open and luminescent. To her a good man enjoys yoga, music by Enya, incense and Zen meditation.

You don't know country women at all....stick to what you know.
OP, I'm not even going to comment on what's being said in here. However being "honest" isn't what gets you girl's phone numbers. Become a doctor and you'll have the best odds of finding the girl you want
