A country woman - will say a real man is one who helps feed the horses and works hard on the farm. He's wears jeans, cowboy boots and cowboy hat. Gets dirty while out wrasslin' sheep. A real man to her is overweight, sweaty and only drives and drink American. During those long stretches of unemployment, he worked odd jobs here and there to make ends meet. He chews tobacco and likes guns and has friends in the klan but he's not a member. He also doesnt mind that she's 40-75lbs overweight and hasnt shaved/trimed her private areas ever.

Yeah, ok, as anything else in life there are different opinions from different kinds of people. But I guess the honest, devoted and loving part holds true regardless of the kind of woman answering. Respect is what people want from other people in general, be they males or females. And honesty and devotion have much to do with offering respect.
Strictly my opinion. A true man is honest, with others and himself, about his feelings, thoughts, actions, everything. He is also pretty rational (actually thinks things through before doing something). Doesn't play the 'I'm a man so I'm supposed to be tough/lack emotions/never get hurt routine'.
It's just plain humiliating to sit next to a dude, whose feelings have been hurt (non-intentionally), and you don't even know because he will definately not tell you, which leads to a huuuuge confusion (that could be avoided with 5-6 words).
Not to mention when a guy is really dieing to be with you and he acts tough and un-interested. So you just understand that he's not interested.
An aging jaded woman who's been with nothing but jerks - Just wants a man who is faithful and not into playing any games. A man who loves her cats, doesnt drink too much and has a spiritual side. She doesnt care about anything else. She just wants to a man who will not cheat, lie or break promises.
