I just need to know, because I know when I start dating again I'm going to meet a lot of pervs masquerading around as good guys, so I just need to be prepared.
And secondly, how often do guys lie when you meet them? It seems they lie a lot. Gah . See this is why women become lesbians, for this very reason.

Everyone has a different definition of "perv".
Are you talking child porn perv or something more along the lines of bondage type perv or maybe one of those sex with the lights on pervs?
Also, I had a few gals show up on first dates with me that seemed clearly nervous. There was not a second date with any of these women. You seem like you are walking into this with an attitude that might be off-putting to the good\normal guys you encounter. (No one likes being treated as suspect.)
I'd suggest a rigorous pre-screening process so you can be more relaxed upon actually meeting or things might not go well?

I agree with others about what your definition is of a "perv".
But from what it sounds like you are just nervous because although you say you have lived some, maybe you have been out of the game for awhile and you forgot how things really go down.
Gist of the matter, and this is by nomeans meant in a negative fashion...but all men want to sleep with you, if they are interested in you at all.....this alone does not make them pervs, it is part of being a man. It really comes down on how you handle yourself: for example, if you know you will not have sex with a guy for X amount of dates, or wahtever, just be clear with him on that when the occassion comes up (not the first date, I would hope).
This really isn't about all guys being bad, as others have stated there are just as many women out there sleeping around and lying.
You need to take your time to get to know people so you can trust them and not feel so nervous or put upon when you go out with them (maybe thinking they will attack you sexually or something?) Again,as others have stated it takes 2 people...so...it's unlikely that every guy you date will try to rape you, unless there is something else going on on your end (sending mixed signals). Be open and honest with people and you shouldn't have to worry so much about this.

Haven't read responses of others but I want to clarify: why do you put perverts and liars in the same category, and secondly: what is your definition of a pervert?
Personally, I am not into guys who are so normal that it's boring. I like my man to be kinky (that what attracted me to my husband)...there is very little that can surprise me or shock me in that department...Perverts in my opinion are more of a pedophile type of guys
