I took everyone's advice and called my friend and left a message to clarify that I wasn't sleeping with any other dude. About an hour later he was at my door! You guys were so right! He said he assumed that I had run off and gotten married or something! So we hung out and he was way more territorial and affectionate.
Thanx CD!

I'll tell you personally that if I'm interested in a girl and I realize another guy(s) are into her, I usually back off. I don't believe in "fighting" for a woman, especially one you've only known 6 weeks. There's millions of other girls I meet on a daily basis, not gonna make my life any more difficult, let alone complicate the dating process, any more than it already is.
au contraire, you may not like the competition, but I know plenty of guys that thrive on it. It has nothing to do with jealousy, they use it to prove their manliness, and I know some of them like the fight.

I agree MAtheBanker. I dated a guy weeks ago who is still competing everytime he sees me! It's like the more he sees me with somone else the more he's gotta chase me. Ironically, the one I like dislikes a whole bunch of competing. So I don't think it's a hard and fast rule.
