How can you have time to have FWB but not relationships? Relationships are about fun and games (parties, foreplay, sex, dates, and friendship) all rolled into one. It isn't supposed to be Mr. and Mrs. Beaver Cleaver sitting around washing dishes and reading the newspaper. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh. Nobody gets that.
OMG ya mean I've gotta get rid of my Mrs. Beaver dress? and I can stop washing dishes, and saying "Yes Dear".
You have a point. My opinion on FWB, though, is that they are destined to fail, because they are, in essence, empty relationships.
Thats the thing. What is a successful couples relationship? One that grows, becomes stronger, and hopefully last forever. What is a failed relationship? One that does not develop strong emotional bonds and a powerful sense of togetherness that lasts thru trials and tribulations of life. FWBs have no expectation of success thus really dont fail. They are designed to fill a temporary void. Although they are empty of the things that make up couples relationship they do contain a degree of companionship.
If their failure is that one party begins to develop deeper feelings then that person is ready for a more substatial relationship and has no business continuing a FWB or they believed that the situation was more than FWB to begin with.

For some, its only about the sex. So a FWB is not something that it matters if it fails. In fact, for some, failing is expected. And moving on afterwards.
I don't want to be in a relationship that is most likely to fail ie: FWB.

I agree...I don't see why people view a real relationship as a ball and chain. I think it should be a relief to have the security and support, and there's no mandate to suddenly become boring.
FWB at first glance seems like having your cake and eating it too, but it's really just setting yourself up for hurt and the loss of a friend. You don't really have all the perks of a relationship, such as loyalty, commitment, and trust.

I appreciate your honesty and totally understand if its not your thing. I myself like my real boyfriends to be a little on the prudish side. I don't date man whores.
