I wonder if the OP would dump his girlfriend if she suddenly lost her job.

I'm thinking the OP is a legend in his own mind. I can certainly remember those days where I ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for supper every night for a couple of weeks. But I was never made to feel I wasn't "worthy" of having a date just cause I didn't have much money.

does she not realize she is not eligible to date?

If i was unemployed or partally employed I would not be qualified to date. Anyone disagree?

I dated a guy that was laid off a month after we started dating and it really bugged me. I didn't have to pay for him or anything, but its just nice to see someone taking an effort in bettering themselves. I also dated a guy that worked an absolute CRAP job, but at least he had one. I remember him saying flat out he'd never try to date anyone with the job he had.

If I didn't have a job, I definitely wouldn't be looking to date anyone. I'd prioritize and look for a job and not a mate. Idiots.

Unless the OP provides a pic and a notarized statement.....I don't believe one exists!

Man, I just got milk up my nose.

Women are "eligible" in the adult dating pool if they are over 18, single and breathing.

I'm assuming you wouldn't be "qualified" to date unless you came up with the required $50 for 30 minutes. For most people, if they're single and can communicate, they're qualified to date.

If it is really the case that people who are struggling financially are not eligible partners, then I am afraid that much of America should be single. This economy is crappy enough and those who have been hit hard don't really need someone else coming down on them telling them they are not worthy of something as universal as love.

Maybe you, TVGuy, need to re-evaluate your standards and log off the computer every once in a while to get in touch with the reality of the world today. No one is perfect and if you keep looking for a rich woman who has no use for the DMV, then you're going to be a very lonely guy.

I definately think the priority should be finding a job or getting her affairs in order, not dating. Maybe she wants to date as an escape, but she needs to prioritize.
