I don't base my decisions on whether to go dutch on how good looking the guy is. Is the OP more willing to take out his wallet if the girl is "super" hot, as opposed to just "hot" ?
I never said you, specifically, did. Imo, in general, a guy is more likely to pay if the girl is "super" hot and a woman is less likely to care if they go dutch if the man is extremely attractive. At least, this is what I've observed. People are shallow, what can I say.
I just don't understand why there is so much emphasis on who pays. *shrugs* Just because a guy, or girl, prefers to go dutch on the first date doesn't mean they are cheap or bad people. It's just a preference, we all have them, it says little about who they are. And a man paying doesn't necessarily mean he's a gentleman who respects women, I've seen plenty of playboy types pay for dates.
I prefer to start out as a friendship anyway, so the first "date" thing hasn't happened a lot anyway. Chances are we've hung out a couple of times on neutral ground before going out together.
I do have a male friend I've known for a long time, and although he's very courteous with the opening of doors for women etc..he's also pretty poor. So, unless he's "interested" in a girl, she'll be paying for her own. LOL I wonder if the young ladies know this about him? Hmm

That would be fine with me. On a first date, I would probably still be thinking about whether or not I like the guy enough to continue dating him. And going dutch would make me feel that I wasn't under any pressure to show him any physical affection at the end of the night.

I would be totally turned off and not date you.
So you have eliminated bl#ndes and r*dheads, now you are eliminating AT LEAST 50% off attractive br*nettes. I have no arguments to add, but I just didn't find it masculine when I was dating.I can't even explain why, just as I am sure you can't explain why you like brunettes.
