When I was younger I had the opportunity to sit around a group of older women and they said something that I always remembered. They mentioned having sex too soon can cloud your judgement. By judgement, they meant you could find yourself with someone who you really shouldn't be with or who isn't on the same page as you and the reason why is because your judgement has been altered by the physical act.
I'm not going to define the too soon but I really am curious about your opinion.
Okay - here is how it is for me. Wanting someone and not being able to have him is what clouds my judgement!! I remember in my dating days, if I wanted someone who was unattainable, it would cloud my judgement because I would overromanticize (is that even a word?) this man.
Also if I'm having sex too soon, that means my judgement was already clouded and things are much clearer AFTER the act. Isn't it ironic?
I have a friend right who's going through an ugly divorce and facing a nasty custody battle over his newborn because he equated great sex with being in love. He's learning they aren't the same the hard way.
