No, not really. There are lots of guys (and girls) who dont drink/smoke. Heck Ive been asked why Ive been in so many assorted bands and havent done drugs, gotten high, or smoked some 'stuff'. What, is there a law that says you have to be a drug-user to be in a rock band? I know of lots of musicians who do very well without it.
As far as smoking or drinking, Id be more impressed about someone who doesnt. At any age.
