In Serbia, such women turn down suiters. What is wrong with American men?

Hi JesseJames,

Not built like a piano mover but I have liked some tomboys. I would still make them get in some kind of girls clothes now and then. She would not be in them that long anyhow because I would be removing them. I think a tomboy in a dress absolutely clueless about how good she looks is kind of a turn on. There is a plus side to it that must be taken into account. However if she wanted to be the main aggressor , it just does not work; I react to it by pulling pistols and dropping the hammer. I fought tooth and nail with some early girls friends before figuring this out. They would dump on me and I would ferociously counter punch. I rarely dump on anyone and usually politely discuss the problem I have with them.

I think we need to make clear that there's a difference between a tomboy and a girl that's butch.

What you're describing sounds like butch.

I've dated and would probably continue to be open to dating women who are really into sports and physical activities and aren't very girly in terms of how they dress. I'd probably draw the line though at someone built like a piano mover. I really wouldn't include those last two as traits of tomboys.

Exactly!

I'm a tomboy through and through, but butch, no way. I still have curves, I do own a dress or maybe two, and I know how to use mascara (finally!) and a curling iron, lol. But I also can re-build carbs, work a chain saw (and most other power tools), hunt, fish, watch sports, and I usually have a ball cap on. I haven't worked in a feed store, but I do know about breeding livestock, as well as other animals; and yes, years ago I used to do rodeo, lol. I love the outdoors, and would rather be in the woods, than in the mall.

But I'm not butch.

And I sure hope my hubby isn't in the minority on dating/marrying tomboys; if so there are going to be a ton of depressed lonely tomboys out there waiting for Mr. Right.

I can't imagine a straight dude being attracted to a butch woman. That is just freaky.
