We called and the doctor`s office was closed..
We also called the Hospital to ask a nurse how we are to get a high fever down, she said,"If you want to bring him in, otherwise..(more or less) we ain`t telling you shi*t.
I did shuck him down to his underwear, and put a cool washcloth on his back and chest. If it wasn`t for that darn high temp. Thats scary!
My Mom suggested putting him in a cool bath. Guess it wouldn`t hurt, but he already has the chills going on...
Nah...I didn`t torture him last night. He was glad to help!
Wow, that's pretty horrid what the nurse on the phone said. But typical of today. Nobody wants to help unless they get paid for it.
I think your mother is absolutely right - I think I read somewhere that a cool bath helps bring down fevers.
Lucky you! Mine is solar and green! Guess the "green" stands for the $$$ needed to constantly have it repaired! I mean, even when it gets out of the builder's warranty, there are still 4 more years left of the manufacturer's warranty, but you know how that goes... I heard from blinds installers a manufacturer refuses to replace shades because they have been exposed to the sun! Hello, what are they for?!
Well, you're a guy. Guys are usually more handy. I'd imagine the mountains aren't of much help other than helping you maintain your mental health.

I have a vague recollection of vinegar helping with high fever... Try it. If it doesn't help it's not gonna hurt anything...
Yeah, just checked - vinegar:water (cold)=3:1. Soak a towel/washcloth and put it on his forehead. Rub the rest on his body. Wrap him in a blanket so he doesn't shiver. You may also put socks soaked in this liquid on his feet. Somebody also recommends putting honey on the feet before putting the socks on. You may also add some baking soda to the vinegar & water.
another idea - grated potato in a cheese cloth (or whatever you have) on his forehead
another combination - vinegar, something like vodka/brandy/alcohol, and some made-into-powder aspirin (damn, I'm missing domestic vocabulary to this day )
Women also say to not let the kids sleep with such high fever! Just do those things, take the temp; do it again, take the temp... until it goes down.
Good! My teenagers tell me Facebook is the place to be. I'm glad you're getting out there and moving on with your life. You deserve happiness.
