How many other people here does this apply for? (dating, how to, women)

If I'm out in public.....I find as far as random strangers go, women OUTSIDE of my potential dating age (eg 20+ years older than me), are more likely (note more likely) to engage in small talk, or a hello and a few words.
I think alot of this is due to human nature and the guard being up on those in the potential dating age. How many other people here does this apply for?
I don't know if it's human nature or younger women just want older men because they know how to treat them. Hell, just the other day I was getting a car wash and a very lovely lady in her early 20's struck up a conversation with me and she ended up giving me her number.

Oh don't get me wrong, happens to me too. Just saying the other way is more likely.
Yeah I've noticed this as well. Not that much small talk happens around here to begin with but when it's a woman who initiates small talk or keeps it going, she's usually at least 12 years older than me.
I am more likely to small talk someone I'm not interested in.
Yep, so I am more chatty with men who are not in my dating range. I am pleasant but not overly friendly because I don't want to look like I am hitting on someone or inviting him to hit on me.

I should add I'm not looking for someone to date. I was extremely shy when I was dating though, and wasn't so good at small talk.
