Emotional investment. That is why the length of time getting to know someone before marriage often fails to make a difference. Its better to honesty assess the person as quickly as you can before putting any length of time into it. Most people can't pull out even when they know its flawed. When they screw up, dump em.
Ironically the time spent beforehand, supposedly to create the assurance the person is sound, becomes itself a justification for continuing.
I read thread after thread on this forum from women who remained with horrible men for years, THEN they leave.
Why?
Ok I'll bite. There are so many factors... mind games over time can really do damage just as much as physical abuse. Some women think their 'man' will change, or there are kids involved. Just walking away can be hard when your mind has been completley messed with. Look at some of these young women who have been abducted and stayed with their captor for many years, even when they could've run to safety.
There is no one answer for each - I'm looking for first-person accounts from those who have looked in the mirror and ask, "Why did I sray so long?"
Because that "bleach-blonde ***** that is ten years younger" took him? If you want real answers then maybe you should make your posts a little less condescending? Just a thought
Sorry, but I'm not entertaining you this evening. I have a suggestion,
the next time you see one of these threads, you might ask this question
you need answered.
Good Nite!
