why anyone would choose to ingest through their pores, or their mouth, products that are petroleum based, made with toxic materials, and are not required to go through any FDA approval is beyond me

Smart move. The FDA requires drugs undergo thorough testing before the agency will consider approving them and placing them on the market. Cosmetic products, on the other hand, do not require extensive testing or pre-market approval by the FDA
