Midwest, with particular preference being Missouri.........having never been south of the equator, cant say anything about the men there, although the Aussie men I have met here in the US have ALWAYS been flirts with finesse!

Yeah, that's true enough. Aussie blokes do have a certain charm.
I'd have to say at this point I prefer the "Lanky Yankee" though.
I find that for the most part, southern men make a better and kinder approach to dating. They generally are well mannered, very respectful of women and boundaries. I'm from the south myself, am living with a southerner but have lived in the north for years now, I have a lot of dating experience in both regions and far prefer a southerner.
Well, from my extensive research on the subject, let me say this.......
Men from the South; the attitude seems to be....."Get in the truck, B***h", thats the sum of the whole romance.
I haven't had the same experience. My gentlemen callers from round these parts has been far more gracious. They usually pulls up right in front of the porch, come around and lifts me from the steps into the roadrunner so I don't have to climb and get my feets dirty.
If'n we don't wind up in a ditch or jail by the end of the evenin, he will often spring for a home pregnancy test for the next week, so's I don't hafta call him.
Momma always told me a decent man brings cash on a date. A classy man brings his teeth.

Having lived and dated in most of the regions of the US, I can say that regardless of where they are from, men will treat you as you EXPECT to be treated. We as women do have some control over where we go and what we do on dates... Use it.
