I don't understand what you are saying here really. What did I say that was outrageous?

What I meant was that most people do not get tattoos to look more attractive or hot. Most people who get tattooed know full well that lots of people are repelled by tattoos and prejudice agaisnt tattooed people.

They usually get them to express something spiritual, profound or important to them. Not to look hot.

???? I doubt most women or even men would get a tattoo that they think would make them less attractive...

I have a number of tattoos, none of which do I think make me less attractive. :P

On the other side, I didn't get any of them for the purpose of being more attractive.

That doesn't change the fact that people with tattoos typically find them to be attractive.

What other people think of tattoos wasn't a consideration for me so it never occurred to me at all. After the fact I discovered that it is an issue for some people (I certainly couldn't have missed it around here, that's for sure. ) but I guess because I don't view people with tattoos differently it never occurred to me that other people do. **shrug**
I got mine for my own reasons and I'm not much fussed one way or the other what people think of me because of them. I do find it really interesting when people discover that I have them. Apparently I don't present in line with their stereotypical views of people with tattoos.

I don't think other people's views of your attractiveness or unattractiveness comes into the equation at all. I certainly didn't sit there thinking, Oh I'll get a tattoo, it'll make me more attractive OR less attractive. Attractiveness/less attractiveness and/or other people's opinions of it didn't come into it at all for me.

Oh C'mon

I wasn't born yesterday...

I know that 99.999% of women can't get dressed in the morning without questioning how it makes them look.

Let alone get something as permanent as a tattoo without questioning it deeply..

Sorry to disappoint you. I must be the 00.001%

Sure I had tonnes of questions and thought about it a great deal but what other people would think of it OR ME because of it didn't come into it.

I was far too focused on making sure I had the tattoo that I wanted, done by an artist who I felt would do a good job, in a place on my body that I would be happy to look at and see for the rest of my life.

Tattoos. The ultimate in tackiness. Nearly as much of a turnoff as a scabless open sore.

When I see a girl or a woman with a tattoo, I instantly think trash, low-class, sub-standard taste and judgment. Just MO.

And that there ^ is one of the added "benefits" of getting mine that didn't occur to me at all.

It weeds out a whole lot of useless conversation with judgemental people that are hung up on exterior features. It's been a blessing in that regard.
