Ummm pretty straight forward explain it to him and your reasons why and get him smoking outside.

Tell him nicely to go outside. Give him an ashtray. Your neighbors do not want cigarette butts in the shrubs or street.

I agree with the others, maybe tell him that you don't like the smell and the way it makes you feel and that from now on he needs to go outside to smoke.

I'd never date a smoker (if I was single). It's one of my 'non uncompromisable' issues.

You either tell him no or deal with it.

Buy a little portable window fan, stick it in a window blowing out and put a chair next to it.
Works perfectly, the smoke goes right out the window.

Tell him his smoke is starting to bother you, and could he please not do it in your place anymore?

Though if it bothers you that much....never mind.

If it bothers you, tell him. Perhaps you will be the catalyst helping him to quit. I have some good friends who still smoke. UGH and ptooiey. There is no smoking in my home. During the winter when those friends come to visit, I remove my coats from where I hang up their coats to avoid my coats having that smell. I can't imagine how bad it must have been for my husband before I quit. I am so thankful he didn't allow me to smoke in the house. After I quit (a while afterwards), I realized why he gave me my own closets rather than sharing his - the smoke smell on clothing of smokers is horrendous!

Tell him it bothers you - nicely.

What gets me are the smokers who are more concerned about their smell of clothing and the discoloration of their walls than the damage they are doing to their own lungs. When I smoked, my cigarettes were a part of me, and I took them from room to room.
