& if it does? how much does it matter overall? For instance, I was having a conversation w/ a friend of mine & she said that most women prefer to be either extremely career driven or family-oriented, but then she argued that most women these days try to find a healthy balance between the 2...

I plan on teaching elementary school once I graduate from college in May & my friend (who I spoke with previously) is a business major & wants to be an entrepreneur...we looked at some of the top female CEO's & most of them were unmarried...

Another example, whenever I tell a guy I'm seeing that I'm studying Education or I'm going to be a teacher, it feels like all their vital signs go up...but when some of my friends tell guys that they are going into biomedical engineering, these same guys (or same caliber guys) are unimpressed...I don't know, it might seem like a dumb question but how much does a woman's career matter to a man?

I gotta be honest here, I don't it matters all that much to men, not saying it is unimportant, its in the top ten perhaps but near that bottom, at least for me.

I obviously like a woman to be employed, and be self sufficient and all of that.

But If I see an attractive lady, I'm not wondering if she went to an ivy league school or if she's a CEO. Nudge nudge wink wink.

I think men generally prefer not to be eclipsed by their girlfriend/wife when it comes to careers. The ones that don't mind are typically beta males.

A scenario: It's not what she does for a living but only if it gets to her head that she feels she's superior to any man in every way that her attitude would become a huge turnoff and detriment.

Depends on the confidence of the man, I know guys who have to be the bread winner. I dont date women unless they are college grads, with few exceptions, so I like smart self sufficient women.

Not career as such, but certainly their general life aspirations/ambition.

I consider myself an aspirational person, and i couldn't date somebody who was not also so. I guess relationships are about complements.

It's not a dumb question. The answer is "not much."

What matters is compatibility. I looove girls who are interior designers or Architects but that's because I'm an Architect. Architects think differently than most people and if she is an Architect or Designer chances are we think alike, and that's very important.

I wouldn't care about what type of career job she has but wouldn't date a woman who is a cashier at Target.

Defintely would have to have a career job
