The bad thing about Viagra (or any of these pills) is that you have to plan for sex in advance. There's no mood killer like stopping what you are doing for him to wait 30 minutes for the pill to work.
While this is partially true, the same is often said of couples who need extra lube. I wouldnt think using ed pills would be any more of a compromise. Too, keep in mind that not all of these pills need to be administered right before the act. I'll give you a scenario. Cialis can last up to 36 hours. The key here is "up to." For certain men it can only last 8 or 12. So, a guy either has to anticipate having sex or you sit and wait the 30 minutes and it's nearly impossible to get back in the mood. Then if you anticipate the sex and it doesn't end up happening you feel like you wasted a pill. Especially if your insurance doesn't cover the pill and it's expensive. Like 12 bucks a pill. So then you make your partner feel guilty for not using the pill and wasting the pill and your money.

Or if he anticipated sex, and it doesnt happen, he'd feel good knowing that if it did, he would have been prepared.. If it doesnt last long enough, then he can pop another pill. That said, if we are going to assume the worst of everything, then again why have sex.

I'm just saying its a pain sometimes. Especially if you don't want to waste the pills and if you have to stop and wait. It's just not ideal.
Maybe its different when you are old though. Maybe you don't care as much when one of you needs lube and the other needs viagra. Maybe the woman can get lubed up while they wait, lol.
I'm probably just bitter because I've only had sex once in my entire life without the stuff and it gets old
