I'm really not that excited cause it's Xmas and NYE. I'm very blah about it. I'm thinking its partly because of my age (34) and the past 4 months that I've been through. Anyone else going through the same thing??

I've felt that way about christmas and NYE for several yrs. I'm 40 BTW, I don't think its and age thing.

It's all over rated if you ask me.

Especially NYE', that's just amateurs day out. Pro's like myself take it easy and don't drive or screw around on that day.

I just look forward to getting a few days off work! I also get to hang out with my BIL, sister and my nephews.

Well NYE will be especially hard for me this year. It would have been my ex and I 5 year anniversary. We just broke up in August. We agreed to not contact each other that night. I'm going to have some wine and ambian to make sure I keep my end of the deal.

I'm extremely sentimental and I will not go out on NYE, even with friends, if I'm not in a serious relationship. I'll just sit at home by myself. In my 34 years, I've only spent NYE with 1 person (this current ex) as the other relationships, we were fighting or I was single.

Don't drive on NYE. I get where I'm going and stay put. Too many drunks out on the roads.

Mixing alcohol and ambien can be lethal - I urge you not to and if you need to please find a friend or family member you can stay with overnight or something to safeguard your end of the deal and help you cope.

LOL The only place I'm driving to is from my couch to my bed. I've never driven around on NYE. My brother is a firefighter who has to work NYE this year and I hear all the horror stories so I know.

The ex and I were either in NYC in Times Square or LV on the strip or at Ruth's Chris and then home for the actual new year..

Thursday-I'm not overdosing, suicidial or anything, lol. I have a glass of wine and then an ambian hours later. It's just so I can really sleep as I sometimes I have serious sleeping problems and I'm sure with the way my mind will be racing, I'll need it. Thank you for your concern though

NYE I couldn't care less about. It's just another end to another day. Besides, 2009 has been relatively good to us. Hope 2010 will be even better.

As for Christmas, I like to cdelebrate the why, not just the gifts and other folderol. It will be our first one in our new home and also the first one we will not be close to and surrounded by family. My wife and I will do our best make it nice for one another in a simple, minimalist way.

I had one like that last year. A year later, and with countless pals re-entering my life, I'm a little better. A favorite uncle died this time last year, too. So, I actually had a few whammies hit me all at once.

Here's some inspiration for ya:

Sure. Sad or disappointing experiences add up until eventually you don't care much and become "negative."

This reminds me of something I meant to post.
