What a thoughtful friend you are...

Good morning, Everyone, here it's early morning.

OK, no need to tell us how you pig out all day and you're skinny as a stick! Most women don't particularly enjoy hearing that!

To that I reply "Get thy buttocks into a gym or try some cardio." I spend 4 hours a week in the gym plus run once or twice and go for a hike. Its no wonder I can live off pizza if I so desire.

Eh. I spend far more time in the gym than that.
Read my lips..."I am old and my metabolism now goes backwards".

Yep, I'm dreading the whole metabolism with age thing. I've already noticed mine has slowed since HS. I have also noticed that anytime I abruptly switch diets, it's majorly screws with my metabolism. My body will retain so much more than it would on a steady diet.

In reality, 4 hours a week in the gym isn't asking much. Especially if you have made it a habit, you actually end up enjoying it.

Thanks cricket. Actually the friend is a co-worker that I have known for years, but her daughter is my son's girlfriend. So the deceased was my son's girlfriend's grandfather. Whew. Going to be a hard road for my friend - she was a "daddy's girl" through and through. Amazing what having your friends and family around at a time like that, can do for a person though. She was a wreck earlier....and last night, she was actually okay and even laughing and talking with everyone.

I have no patience for those people that refuse to go to funerals because they are "uncomfortable". Yeesh. MY son is learning early (as I did) how to deal with other's grief. We have such a large family, I couldn't even count the number of funerals I've been to.

Oh I absolutely do enjoy it. I've been a regular for over 20 years. It's ingrained in me somewhere...if I miss too many days I become a real crab!!

Eh, I don't know about that... My metabolism was just fine up until only a few months ago when it got screwed up by a horrible medication. Then again, perhaps the eating and drinking habits I used to have got me on this medication to begin with... Of course, I smoke, so that might've helped throughout the years...

I just bought a fancy-schmantzy scale that shows metabolic age among many other things. Most of the readings are kinda of BS because everything seems to depend on hydration, which is different throughout the day. So far it hasn't shown anything close to my real age, though - my metabolic age fluctuates between -16 to -7.
