Ultimately what it comes down to is who cares what their age is? I go from 18-45 and don't harp on what their age is. As long as they have certain attributes and I find them attractive it's fair game.

Sorry but I can't picture myself with an 18 yo girl. What would you find in common with someone that young? I am 32 and I can hardly date any woman who is younger than 35, imagine 18 years old! I guess, we would be having some deep conversations about her BFF and the Jonas Brothers, wow!

I do believe it depends on what you want from someone. If you're looking for someone who can hold a conversation and doesn't have a 11pm curfew then I'd stick with someone over 25. If you want just a warm legal body then the 18+ crowd can be included.

If I was a 34 YO guy, I'd think having a relationship with someone 18-24 would be difficult.

It entirely depends upon the maturity of both people. There are guys in their 30's who are video-game-playing man childs, and there are women in their early 20's who are head-and-shoulders more sophisticated and mature than women in their early 30's. I know that as a university professor I see students in their 20's who are very mature beyond their years, and I also see people of the same age who are still firmly adolescent and mind-numblingly immature.

I'd say that the TYPICAL mid 30's+ guy would likely have some difficulty connecting on a significant level with a TYPICAL gal in her early 20's. But there is enough variance among so many people that any hard-and-fast rule about such age differences would be pretty useless. It really does depend upon the people involved.

Though the two are related, I really think it is MIND SET rather than YEARS on the odomoter that matters most.

Hi Repubocrat,

I think we philosophically differ in that you imply stupidity ages well. I would hardly expect a woman of 25 to be fundamentally different at 35. If I were able, at 32, to find a woman in her prime at 25 who could already see by wrote without the benefit of experience, then she is for me. That is of course essentially what I did. Incidentally at 18 I would have been happy to discuss the folly of the Hegelian dialectic or military history or gastronomy which were the arts of my interest at the time.

Exactly. And these guys are also taught the "numbers" game -- this isn't about getting the love of your life, this is about getting ANY woman...women are thought of as "targets" instead of individual persons.

That these pick-up "artists" compare themselves to dating coaches is quite funny too...they are approaching dating from two entirely different concepts. Fortunately, any woman who has a brain will recognize them when they approach and can take them for what they are. Usually that means just walking away or laughing when they give up and move on.

Pickup artists are just guys striving to be good at dating & relationships. Some use it to get laid, others don't. All want the ability to control the outcome as best they can. This does NOT mean they manipulate women or toy with their emotions. You know what they do? They learn to be fun, outgoing, and cultivate their personality and lifestyles. This isn't rocket science here. Dating coaching/PUA is all about self-improvement, not manipulation. Anyone that thinks as much is grossly misinformed and/or prejudicial.

Why "game" works (http://www.attractionexplained.com/tutorials/tutorial-1/ - broken link)

3 Qualities are all you need, as explained in this video.

1. Confidence
2. Abundance
3. Ability to sexually escalate

The catch is getting those 3 qualities. That's where the instruction and practice comes into play. There are a lot of awkward guys out there. Some are easily misguided by the loads of (mis)information that's available. While there are some good instructors out there, this guy I can vouch for. He's normal and his advice is healthy and socially acceptable (assuming you have an open mind).

That guy actually seems pretty interesting and normal. the pick up artists that wear goofy props, prepare scripts and all that other crap make me roll my eyes. seems like the guy in the vid agrees with me on that.

but i guess it isnt a secret that if you roll into a club with tons of women more will be attracted to you. that seems to be the center of his method.

They have some points that work across the board, Magnolia. Some (or even many) may execute them in a weird and off-putting way, but the psychology behind is valid.

The psychology behind it is very true, but the purpose for which some of those PUA use it is what creeps me.

Of course people like confident, funny people! That goes without saying. There has to be better and deeper ways to uncover your inner charismatic though than buying into all these techniques and tricks. It just seems so mechanical and insincere.

If you have to use a pill (viagra) and are under 40...also a turn off. That shows me that you are not healthy enough, don't take care of yourself, or have some delusion of grandeur that longer = better. Even at 30 something I would find that a turn off. If you pipes don't work at that age, you need to get yourself together first before looking for new additions. Temporary or otherwise.
