Funny how polarized people are on this and how they cannot even fathom the woman's lifestyle. Chalk it up to women today generally being so feminized they could never consider a traditional stereotypical role of submissive housewife. Because of that it's understandable that an extreme version of that is incomprehensible. Still doesn't make it wrong though and nobody here is in a position to judge them.
It seems that drummerboy is inquiring as to why someone would choose to mate with a controlling person; hence responses. Of course, this is all based on his relaying her words. "She was waiting for her sister, she said. She went on to say that her husband is ultra-jealous and almost didn;t even let her get a gym memebership, since she'd be working out around men"
Either way, ultra-jealous, fear, and even controlling tendencies do not have to be components of traditional role play.
However, several weeks ago, I posted a thread asking if you would allow your spouse to have a once-in-a-lifetime one-nighter with some dreamboat. 90% said no, so it's all the same thing, but just a matter of degree. You let your spouse live their life, make their own way in the world, and trust them to do it in a way that fulfills themselves and is fair and honest to you, according to the trust you construct in your relationship. Control is control, possession is possession.
If she were truly afraid her husband would freak out about her taking a ride from another guy, it's unlikely she would engage you in a conversation - much less tell you intimate details of her relationship.
I think she was either trying to keep you far, far away or the information provided here is skewed.
Unfortunately, these kinds of relationships and behaviors aren't exclusive to married couples.
