Health is the number one reason anyone should be concerned with their weight. Sexual attraction is important too, but taking care of ones health is paramount.
You are correct. Being a little over weight does not mean one is unhealthy but bad overall habits that will affect your health and weight are what should be a concern.
My ex, toward the end of our marriage and after, lost a lot of weight. Probably 20-25 lbs, he looked sick. This was due to drinking, anti-depressants and not eating. Although he did eat healthy food when he ate. I did comment and try to help him to no avail.
My bf fluctuates from 195 to 210 but I dont consider him fat at all. His eating habits are crap. He works out of town and eats a lot of fast food and diner food. He also smokes. of course I have plenty to say about both of these things but I have grown rather fond of him and dont consider these behaviors to be reasons to end a relationship.
Not sure if I put the best answer in. Just saying that I would be keeping an eye on her- I like thin women. Also, on the type of women I really like (petite with small frames), small weight gains can be huge.
My husband has gained 50 pounds in 3 years. I finally had to say something. He is on steriods, but still. I want him around for a long time and I worry that he will die of a heart attack
Why would anyone eat something that breaks down muscle and creates appetite? for what sickness is that helpful?
back to topic...
I'd never leave someone for a weight gain, however if there is anoticable weigh gain, a turn towards getting flabby, I would as I've posted above try mensioning it in as smooth way as I can... If no response I would probably step it up slightly... If it get's to the point where I have to ask her outright if she needs and wants help controling her weight, and she respons in a way that implies she intends to let the scales run high then yes I would leave.
I have no intention of being without anyone with any of the following addictions:
Drugs, tobacco, schnaus, alcohol, food, gambling or gaming.
To me the bad discipline of letting oneself become obese is a direct turnoff, and a red flag. I mean let's say I'd get children with the woman; do I want my children to be raised together with someone who imposes lazyness and likely bad eating habits? heck no.
I'd say something if they crack 25 on the BMI chart.
BMI doesn't say say anything, since it doesn't include body composition in the measuring process. I'm around 26, and you can still see my abs showing...
Many well trained people are near 30.
A runningback in my former football team had a BMI of 37,5~ he was pretty short but all muscles...ran a 4.5 on the 40
