Newman and Redford really attracted the women. Their movies were quite popular because they were in them. In one case in particular, this was unfortunate.
Recall the scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid where Butch is being challenged for leadership of the gang. He approaches his rival who is ready to fight and says “we need to discuss the rules” and then he sucker punches him. This was 1969 after all and all those horny women’s libbers just got a lesson on how to win a divorce battle. When you see a post like this:
