Which seems to work more? Some people state how important is for someone to share their similar likes and personality while others get bored easily so which one is it? Similarity or differences?
Ex 1: Both of them are quiet, reserved shy people... can possible be beta or clingy and doesn't like clubs that much
Ex 2: One person is outgoing and alpha while the other one is the opposite
Well, two of those obviously will kill each other!
This reminds me of the movie ''Mr and Mrs Smith''.. both of them were abusive and fighting for power. LOL
However, in the end they stayed with each other. Perfect match I guess.

I prefer people without sexy personalities to those with them. I find some outgoing people are so to mask deep insecurities, or at least for a front/facade.
There's no hard and fast rule, I think. Two people can appear to be birds of a feather, but have very large differences that aren't obvious. Two people can appear to be opposites, yet really be very similar in private ways that count, eh? I believe it's all about how you complement each other - the whole being greater than the sum of the parts, which are two people.
My wife and I are/were very different in many, many ways (although the gap is narrowing), but we've always gotten along GREAT. I found her to be a breath of fresh air -- very different from me and most of the women in my past.

Kinda on the lines as to a previous poster here I think it all depends on the particular couple. I've known some people that tried the whole opposites attract relationship and eventually the differences between the two became too much. I also know some people that think dating someone extremely similar to them also presents relationship problems. Personally I prefer someone who I share a lot of commonalities but they have their unique, quirky characteristics that make them different from me.
