What does it mean when a woman tells you that you look great?
Not long ago I was at a gas station and I went to pay for my gas and got into a conversation with the lady at the cash register. For some reason we got into the subject of pregnancy, and I remarked that I was the father of three kids. She asked how old they were, and I told her; one was older than she was. She looked at me in disbelief and asked me how old I was. When I told her, she blurted out, "You look great!" Did she find me attractive, was she amazed at how young I look, or what? Last year a young lady at my job was wishing me a happy birthday, and she told me that she hoped she looked as good as I do when she's my age.
What does it mean when a woman tells you that?
I was quite surprised, but she made me feel great, as I had been having a very bad day.
Depends on the context, but in both of those it means that you look a lot younger than you are. Most likely that you are also attractive, but both of those situations sound like they're referring to age.
Well in general terms if a woman says you look great it's because you really do look great and she finds you attractive. However, given the context in which she said it I think you got the "you look good for your age" line. Still meant as a compliment but with a side of sting.
I get that crap line too but I just say I get better with age!

Why does it have to "mean" anything? Maybe she can just appreciate a nice looking guy and, unlike most, will say something and compliment people. Why can't people just gracefully accept a compliment without analyzing it to death? A nice "Thank you" is all that's required.

Yeah, when you start hearing this line, it's safe to say youth is gone...
