Because so many people are losing their homes to foreclosure and bankruptcy in California, and so many residential rentals (apartments, condos and houses) don't allow tenants to have dogs or cats.
If I could have just one dog, I would have rescued one of those Chihuahuas on the spot myself.
I don't know what they're going to do with all these vacant homes here. I guess we'll just stare at 'em and remember when.

We lived in CA a long time. We loved the fishin', boonie campin', & Outdoors Beauty, & many of the Good Folks.
We jus didn't love living ina city anymo. WE Wanted COuntry LIving...
