Well, out of respect, I would choose a place where he likes to go as well, unless of course, you just wanna be ugly.
My hubby says he would much rather have me tell him b/c it saves him the trouble of trying to guess and getting it wrong. I agree with yankeegirl also choose a place you both enjoy.
Discuss it with him. He told me to pick but I asked him what sort of food he enjoys. When I go out to eat, I like to choose a cuisine that I don't make at home -- Indian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, etc. -- but I know that some people don't like different types of food. I always ask.
I need more details. I'm trying to imagine what kind of place my valentine would like to go that would be to offensive to me that I couldn't deal with it for a few hours...and I'm drawing a blank.
