Do you feel pretty? Oh so pretty?

I can absolutely become more attracted to a man once I get to know him. I think that's much more preferable to instant attraction.

It's one of the most often used plot devices in romantic movies. The girl whose always been there for him, he suddenly sees her in a new way, for the first time. Why mary, you're beautiful!

But in real life you're not gonna bother "getting to know" him unless you're somewhat attracted to the facade! Soo... is it the chicken or is it the egg?!

It's happened in my life. It's the same as being friends first.

I know a girl for nearly 4 years..Or 5 maybe. We've been friends all along.
And well, let's just say...She isn't getting any prettier than the first day I met her.
I know she likes me, but eh...I really couldn't get myself to like her.

So I kinda support the "gets uglier" statement...

In my case I'm getting to know her incidentally and like her a little bit more each time I talk to her. Had I just seen her out somewhere would I have approached her with the idea of getting to know her better? Honestly, no. As shallow as that might be it's the truth. So all things considered I'm very thankful that I met her the way I did.

Depends on the situation. I met my last boyfriend because his boss (who I was friends with) asked if I would be willing to talk to him about my job field and how to get into it. So our first few meetings were purely professional and his looks/character were not a factor. After a while, though, I realized I really liked his company and he became more and more attractive. Hell, we'd still be together if I didn't have to move back to the US.

Can women get prettier as you get to know them?...maybe. I personally don't think the same for men. There are certain physical features on the face that I think make a man attractive. For instance, I like a certain facial shape, type of lips, nose, ears etc. No matter how much I like someone, I definitely don't get to the point where I ignore a feature that I never liked in the first place. I have dated good-looking but not-so-nice guys, but no matter how horrible they were, they were still cute! hee hee hee

Absolutely, and it's the same for guys too.

I've known some guys that were just drop dead gorgeous... butterflies in the stomach stammering sentences good looking. Unfortunately, they were jerks and lost all attractiveness in my opinion. I also know of a few girls who are absolutely stunning but guys won't date them because they're also jerks.

Of course, my boyfriend looks like Buddy Holly and I think he gets cuter and cuter every day
