[[quote]Yes, exactly as I suspected. It was 'in the cards' I believe (or was it STARS??! ). Anyways, if only you and I could meet our SPECIAL someone on CDF who would drive up in a clean, paid for vehicle and had a job where he didn't get paid under the table ! A girl can dream, can't she?!
p.s.
BTW, how come you and she didn't meet up to discuss NAH?[quote]]
Since HDL started this thread and I'd rather recycle/reuse...
What was the topic again? A list of the top 5 things...
Maybe I'm too picky? What am I doing tonight anyway?
My new list must include being able to get to know the person in real life in real time. That requires being out in the real world on a regular basis.
Towards that end, today I met two interesting young men with good jobs. Like most of the other heterosexual good catches I'm acquainted with, they're already spoken for. Yet the good news is, now that I'm getting out more socially and professionally, I imagine I will meet more new people. Some of these may be available for long walks on the beach, or whatever people say they like to do.
Hmm.
1) Very smart (don't care about education)
2) Say what he means/means what he says
3) Does not want kids (preferably never had them)
4) Sort of zen-like about judgments, ego, etc.
5) Is crazy about a woman like me
Good stuff here HDL, here's a top 5 list for a lady who might interest me:
1. Self confident. A woman who is comfortable with herself and can deal with the everyday world.
2. Smart with a bit of spice, in the nice way.
3. 5' 6" or taller would make for a good dance partner (I'm 6' 1").
4. Health and fitness oriented, doesn't mean a fanatic but this is a woman who enjoys a variety of active sports or interests. Not a couch potato.
5. Creative. A woman that connects with me and whose ideas set my mind into gear. Also creates some sparks of energy when we're together.
Recycled--Your list is great except the guys should be shorter for the same reason. Otherwise I don't care how tall he is but dancing with a guy cheek to cheek is so nice. I can't hear you tall guys on the dance floor and my neck starts hurting and definitely can't help you out with a slight pressure on the arm letting you know there is someone behind you. But it never stops me when a good dancer asks me to dance. The plus side--he never hits my head with his arm when he spins me
Many of the wants everyone lists are basic assumptions for me: no heavy drinking, no drugs, no smoking, respectful, responsible with money.
My list:
1. Active physically but not a fanatic. Has goals but spontaneous enough to revise them. Will take time to wander--take along a picnic, book, art supplies (whatever amuses him) and hang out in a park or jump in the river along the bike path (or the sculpture park, a movie in Yelm before biking back....) Those guys I pass on the bike path so intent on their goal they can't smile or say hi don't look like much fun.
2. Adventurous - enjoys learning new things - likes to read, willing to take dance lessons, learn Spanish, volunteer, travel.
3. Self and other awareness - liberal - able to laugh at himself - able to discuss ideas - look at why we believe the things we do--wants to erase the boundaries of our boxes instead of allowing fear and ego to create more.
4. Creative with his mind and his activities. My creative process is enriched when shared with someone else who loves creating. The energy builds instead of drains. He'd enjoy quiet (doesn't have to have the tv on all the time.)
5. Caring, down-to-earth - about the earth and others (I just read about a couple who goes to other countries to volunteer on their vacations--what fun.)
