"Sexual addiction" is no longer in the latest DSM-IV-TR, although it had been in earlier editions. There IS an entry for a miscellaneous diagnosis called Sexual Disorders Not Otherwise Specified, which now includes: "distress about a pattern of repeated sexual relationships involving a succession of lovers who are experienced by the individual only as things to be used."
I believe it is now viewed as hypersexuality with companion symptoms shared with bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder.
No, I do not suffer from it. Not at all. In fact, I enjoy it.
