21-31 is the club/NYC scene,
31- 38 is the pub/lounge/see a band scene
40s- nicer type restaurants, or beer, shot & jukebox
45-75 - is the divorced/widow(er)/geriatric hook-up scene ...
Why does going to a bar signify immaturity? There's a wide variety of bars out there, including those that cater to post-collegiate frat boys who drink til they puke, to dance clubs, to meat markets, to corner taverns, to local indie music venues, to places where people grab a drink or two while reading a book or to catch up with friends.
As for me, as long as there's some place serving up a good variety of quality craft beers, I don't intend to ever "mature" to the point where I stop going to bars.
