I have a 2nd date with a really nice 50 year old women. She really seemed to appreciate me opening doors and such on the first date. Do you think it would be too much or hokey to show up with a small upscale box of chocalates? I think she would really like this, but don't want to seem like I am trying too hard!
I don't understand why people need to ask questions like this ?
You do what you feel is right.
If you want to take chocolates, then do it. If she takes mortal offence to a gift then she's no catch and you're well rid!
Dating is about getting to know someone to decide if you want to take it further.
So, be yourself.
let her get to know your opinions and values, not ours ?
You know, I've had people that were taken aback when I brought a small gift when visiting them at their house. Last time, I think I brought a cheap bottle of champage for the woman of the house, and a six pack of beer for the guy. They were surprised that I would bring a gift, but that was the way I was raised. If you go to visit someone, you do not go empty handed, or expect them to feed you and put you up for the night in their home. If they OFFER to do so, it's another matter--but you don't go there expecting it.
