I have a friend who likes East Asian women so much, that all of us joke if he ever chose to live in Hong Kong, Shanghai or Tokyo, he would probably get a heart attack from the excitement of seeing so many East Asian women. He'd probably get arrested and deported due to gross indecency too. The excitement wouldn't just be emotional.
But if a person really likes men/women of x nationality/ethnicity, does it make sense to go to that country and find a date/SO?
I have traveled plenty with plenty more travel to go and while I have not traveled specifically to meet women, I certainly don't turn down a look at the local ladies.
I'd say for anything it is a great experience just to do something different and you have different cultures to contend with and all that. It's good to get off that one track road with American women and get out and experience what the world has on offer. It's an eye opener.
I would not go just to meet someone.
When I do get the occasion to travel to a foreign country being a single guy I may try to flirt with some of the local ladies.
My brother has a friend who did this. He was told by someone else to use a specific tour group when he went to asia on vacation and sure enough he ended up marrying his tour guide.
That was 2 years ago. She hasn't come to the USA yet, seems she got herself into some legal trouble and that has to be cleared up before she can leave the country. Of course he sends her money regularly because she needs help with her family and her legal fees. They do talk on the phone once or twice a month though, that's the only time she can spare with her busy tour guide job and all.

Unfortunately a lot of people mix up getting to know women overseas=marriage.
