Actually no, we would not marry.

We currently have $300,000 in student loan debt.
If she was single she would have made a scholarship. Plus, new student loan arrangements come out and due to my income. The payments are not tax deductable and may not be defered.

We are having a tough time of it financialy and being married will likely cost us around $500,000.

I'd be with her. Just not married in the eyes of the IRS

In a heartbeat!
We just celebrated our 33rd anniversary last week. It has been a roller coaster ride and I for one love roller coasters.

It is and always has been called "the marriage penalty tax" - for a reason.

Two can live cheaper than one if both are not married. That doesn't mean being single.

There are a few perks to having a marriage license, but the advantages are outweighed by the disadvantages - until inheritance and property ownership comes into play.

No and no.

1. Definitely.

2. A year ago, I may not have been so sure about this one, but today I would also say yes.
