I would tend to agree that it's sex where you're just going through the motions for the sake of "doing it" but that there is no passion, love, etc... and I don't know who would stay in a relationship like that.

IMO if you are going to be in a long term relationship (10-20-30+ years) you will have to come to terms with having some "mechanical sex". It bound to happen. "Passion" isn't always something you can bring to the table each and every time you have sex...sometimes it's just sex and sometimes it just for the benefit of one or the other. That doesn't mean there isn't love however, or that there is a dead fish anywhere in the mix
