I've only used one briefly and thats it, never actually met anyone face to face. For those who have used the sites and met face to face, how would you sum up your experience.

I did the online dating for a few years back in '04-'06. I met some really strange people (oh, the stories I could tell!) along with some really nice ones. I eventually ended up marrying a man I met on Yahoo Personals.

My best advice is, always meet in a public place, keep an open mind and don't get your hopes up too high! You know the old saying "If it seems too good to be true..." well, yeah, that's normally the case. I got to the point where, when going to meet someone new, I expected nothing more than to make a new aquaintance. The night I went to meet my now-husband I had ZERO expectations. I was pleasantly surprised

Oh and of course if you are no longer seeking a relationship eg. in one, etc. Answer the poll in past tense, eg No or few regrets and I'd keep using, If I were single.

All my dates since returning to the poll in my late 30's have come from on-line dating. Been dating gf for over a year now.

No luck for me (1997 - 2004). Met some nice people, met some nut-jobs.
My wife and I were on same dating site, never connected. I met her in an ice cream shop - go figure.

I never had anything out of ordinary, to be honest. Pretty decent guys. I met my current boyfriend on Match, been together for little over a year. I never used the free ones though.

I married someone I met online. We were married for 2 years. It didn't work out. I have met nice people and crazy people yet I still give it a go.........why?

Because I can meet as many crazy women online as I can in person. I figure why limit myself.

I believe online dating is a waste of time. Many would turn out fake 99% of the time.
