Guess we both have been so busy with stuff we forgot.

As time goes on, you will both miss the date again. It isn't so much a forgetting the anniversary, but more of a "Ooops. that's today's date?"
Happens to us from time to time - but then we celebrate 5 anniversaries a year! Often a couple of days later when we both realize we just passed another milestone.

Hope you two are doing something special this weekend to celebrate. And Happy Anniversary!

Ha! I went through every page of this thread looking for this. Worried we may never see you again. *whew*

Glad it worked out.

In the future, one way not to forget important dates is to incorporate them in something you use almost every day, such as part of a user ID or password. Then all you need to remember is did you use her birthday or anniversary for that login?

Hmm, not going to read all the posts, but it occurs to me that she forgot too, since nothing happened on THE day?

It even occurs to me that you could still get a gift or make a plan for the near future, say, but then confont her and say SHE forgot about it, and you were just waiting to see if she'd remember!

I was out of town on my anniversary on biz once and forgot to call. I looked at my calendar the next morning and said "Oh, crap!"

On my way to the airport I made a visit to the Saks jewelry department. I eased the tension quite a bit by saying, "I was in meetings all day [Which was true, by the way] but I bought you these."

I wasn't totally forgiven, but a nice string of pearls makes a pretty good peace offering.

My DH is not good with remembering dates. One time a few years ago he said, "hey, did you know Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday this year?" LOL. Anyway, sometimes most of us have so many things going on in our lives, it just happens. I certainly wouldn't put him in the doghouse for missing one particular day. Yes, it's a special day, but I'd rather have DH's love and affection every day like I do than get flowers or card for one special day. That's just me.
