I think you should be more direct about what you want. Ask her to teach you how to say, "Would you like to go out with me?" in her language. The "I'd like to be more than friends" sounds like you're moving a little too fast, or like you're trying to pick her up. I don't know what her personality is like, but if she's shy, asking her that might scare her off.
