As long as it's not excessive, why would I mind? I play some myself so I'd be a hypocrite if I have a problem with it. We actually have a Wii, a PS3 and an XBox 360. I only really use the Wii and my husband mainly uses the XBox. The PS3 we mostly have for Bluray - he does play a game on it once and a while but he finds the constant updates and installations really annoying. You'd think with all 3, we'd be some kind of video game addicts but we're not.

Twisted around; if it was a girl doing it...hmm well I guess my answer is the same as you women; in moderation sure,
but if she'd miss a date or skip hangin out because there was some "world of warcraft-raid" that would be a dealbreaker....

ill be a gamer until i die, but i never mind turning a game off to go do something. i tend to play in spurts based on big releases. usually theres one or two big games a year i reallllllly want and i will play them a lot for a few days. any other time i prob game about 5 hours over the course of a week. last two weeks i havent played anything.

only prob ive run into is when a girl wants you to turn off the game right away to go do something. usually i just need 5 mins to wrap up a match or save my game. gimme my 5 mins and we're golden

Choose your addictions wisely. Video games aren't the worst kind of addiction - a new game can cost $50 or $60 -- and be played over and over - unlike a bar tab for one night or a lover on the side. It's cheaper by far than gambling, or most other hobbies. Many gamers won't over drink or do drugs because they won't let anything get in the way of their games. They might not notice their wife in sexy lingerie but they won't notice some bar fly either.

to say that video games are only for kids is misguided.

The hand eye co-ordination and problem-solving skills needed are good to daily living, for persons of any age.

I'm a gamer myself (a responsible gamer), so I'd think it'd be cool if I could meet a similar type of guy.

I have an ex girlfriend and we used to play together. At no point has it become an obsession for me, it doesn't pay my bills. Not really into it these days, only play occasionally when I have friend/s over or go somewhere....... everything in moderation.

I've never played one but I got into a conversation about them with my neighbor who is a really bright guy, well read, and knowledgeable about what's going on in the world. He was telling me that these new games are so realistic and sophisticated that it's unbelievable so he's kind of gotten into it. It doesn't appeal to me but it sounds like the video game industry has gone far beyond something that would only appeal to teenagers and they're marketing them to a broader audience.

Everything in moderation.

If my husband started skimping out on his responsibilities around the house or at work because he was too busy playing games at midnight, it'd be a problem. If he'd rather play video game than watch a movie on Friday nights though, why should I care?

I've tried buying games for our wii that interest both of us, so we can play together on occasion.
