VATICAN CITY - The Vatican on Tuesday issued a set of "Ten Commandments" for drivers, telling motorists not to kill, not to drink and drive, and to help fellow travelers in case of accidents.
An unusual document from the Vatican's office for migrants and itinerant people also warned that cars can be "an occasion of sin" — particularly when they are used for dangerous passing or for prostitution.
I think I have to leave this alone, John. I can't be sure who the source of this article is from. Vatican? Or maybe one of those supermarket tabloids? IMO it would be an insult to my Catholic friends to try to make sense of it.

It's on all the major news websites including CNN. Check it out.
Maybe the Vatican should concentrate on more important issues to come out with commandments on such as priests molesting and abusing young children.
I'm pretty sure they already have.
I don't think it's a bad idea. Many people hide behind the relative anonymity of driving a car and think it gives them the authority to be a hellion.
Just two days ago, we just had some teenagers in an SUV right by our house try to pass another vehicle at a high rate of speed, lost control and flipped the car several times into a wetland area across the road. They then thought it would be a good idea to run from the scene of the accident, as the driver was bleeding profusely from a gash in his face. Needless to say several people in the neighborhood chased them down and brought them back.
Would they have heeded any additional moral guidelines on driving? Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to try.
I see what the Catholic church is going for here, and it's a good thing. But doesn't it seem a bit like they were looking for something to do on a rainy day, and then came up with this?

exactly. there are more important issues they should be focusing on.
