Jesus. The slowest God in history.

Jesus Christ, Revelation 22:12-13
"And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according to his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

Not believing in a real Jesus and just thinking of him as an archetype, I am not particularly surprised that he has yet to --come quickly -- back to us.
I have no idea as to why he did not hang around and do the savior bit at the time of his supposed resurrection and why Jesus abandoned the ancients and us to the conditions we have faced. Even today, about 16,000 of us starve to death daily, 75 million of us are recognized slave and at least 1 billion women are still oppressed by men. Not to mention all the gays that we have denigrated and discriminated against, without just cause, all this time.
As believers, you may also have pondered why such a long 2000 year wait. This, in light of the fact, that he even said that the time of the end was at hand to his disciples .
This delay cannot be because of our free will because God of the O T clearly demonstrated that He had not respect for it and He certainly did not consider the free will of those that He killed or had killed back then. Their free will choice was to live, not die.
If he wanted relevance to us, I would think that he would be here and not an absentee God.

Could it be that Jesus is just a myth or is He just slow?

What is quickly in God time?

Regards
DL

Jesus is not God neither is He any son of God; he is merely the son of man; like us he and we are the sons of man.

See about sons of man here as an example:
in the psalm 11:
“2-Save me, O lord, for there is now no saint: truths are decayed among the children of men."

Default Slow eternity is rather a subjective Idea.

But, I see, that vital time through the physical reality of being/becoming is referred to the life of each one of us as subjectively such. But through the religious scriptures you are much referring to meta-physical Time which the history of western philosophy had begot.

We are also civilized. Christ will come and go like nothing; Christ will never really have been.

A billion years is quick compared to eternity. Heck, a billion billion years is nothing in comparison to eternity.

The scriptures say that 1000 years is a day to God. In a time when communication was not instant, a week would probably be considered pretty quick. Give it another five thousand years and mankind will have likely forgotten all about the promise made by bronze age men over 2000 years ago from present.

The consensus is, Jesus is man or myth.
I agree.

And I agree to disagree. I never knew what they were talking about.

When will people stop looking for God and Jesus in their material world. Will you never wake to the understanding that they preside in your spiritual life -- your INNER life?

Look not for the signs out there, but inside. Go within. Sit quietly in tune out what is beyond yourself, and wait for that still, small voice -- not the loud, clamoring one from your head, but the quiet one from your heart.

The Lord has been waiting for you, all the while.

You know, that is exactly what I did do.
That's when I decided to get brave (yes, it takes a bit of courage for a Christian to shuck all the dire warnings learned from childhood on up) and admit my inner voice was telling me the truth......there is no god.

Maybe Jesus has already come back but you're not paying attention.

This is a typical error. It is the erroneous and absurd God of the mainstream religions that does not exist. You are correctly dismissing the crap . . . but you missed the baby Jesus in the bath water.
