Just more of their fear fear fear fear mantra, what a boat load of bull pasture patties.

Irrational fear only works on those already filled with irrational thoughts, such as the existence of such a pathetic excuse for a god, that exists only in the minds of the deluded, that would use cancer as a weapon. A great example of the desperation of these people, and an excellent example of the ugly side of belief in imaginary deities.

That is just par for the course with the religious....if you don't believe in god, illness is punishment from him....if you do belive in god, illness is either punishment for your sin or just gods will....how illogical and deluded is that?

Ok, can we stop now with the examples from extremists and then acting as if all religious people believe this way????

At the age of 60+ there is a 35% chance of getting cancer, to think that this is some sort of sign of god is pathetic.

It's amazing. You can't even get past the first four words of that article without running into bull. Someone needs to tell these brilliant men of wisdom that there is no such thing as an atheist God-hater. That's an oxymoron if there ever was one, sorta like fundamentalist and common sense.

These deluded morons never fail to show how little class they have when it involves bad things happening to people. "Maybe now he'll see my imaginary friend is real!!!" More time spent with a psychologist and less time with their holy book would do them a world of good....or not. Some people are beyond help, I suppose.

But anyhow, isn't God wonderful? He couldn't have just revealed himself to Christopher Hitchens one night while he was at home relaxing or something. Had to hit him with cancer instead, huh? Maybe the vindictive, murderous, psycho ex-girlfriend jealous, misogynistic tyrant of the Bible is real after all. Praise the lord!

Why does the so-called creator of the universe have to be so passive aggressive in trying to get people to believe in him? All he has to do is come down and say hello...

Of course, this IS the moron who had to flood the entire world in order to kill off a few misbehaving primates, and then have his son horribly murdered in order to create a loophole in the absurd system of sin and punishment HE created.

You have to realize that this is a fundamentalist's wet dream. They love to lie about well known Atheists who allegedly converted on their deathbeds. They also love to promote well known Atheists who have converted at some point in time. Hitchens is an extra special case, though, because he is extraordinarily outspoken - and good at it. If the fundamentalists can point to a case where one of the heaviest critics of religion, in that of Hitchens, converted to Christianity after being diagnosed with cancer they will use it for another two-thousand years.

Hell, they're still promoting fatuous lies about Darwin well over a hundred years after his death. Imagine the ammunition this could bring to the fundamentalist table? There's no doubt in my mind why they're praying for this to happen.

I'll say this. I've watched and read enough Christopher Hitchens to understand that not only will he continue to maintain his stance against religion but he wouldn't even give the fundamentalists the satisfaction if he did convert.

It's a shame that lurking around every atheist's hospital bed is a fundamentalist asking "Do you believe yet?" It reminds me of a road trip with a bunch of five year olds asking "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

Example of TRUE moron behavior:

KNOW much of ancient writings are metaphorical and written in parables.

KNOW much of ancient writings have been adulterated, twisted, and perverted in translation after translation...for centuries.

Then be so moronic to engage in debate, argue, ask questions, and make proclimations...from the standpoint of said writings being pure and literal!!

Wow! Just goes to show you can't debate extremists.

Regardless, my sympathy to Mr. Hitchens for his plight.
