Christians often refer to, "The sinful nature of man." and "original sin of mankind."

My question is: Do/can animals sin? Why or why not?

Could it be said that the "sinful nature of man" is really man's animal instincts/behaviors inherited through evolution of the species?

Of course animals can sin! Just last night my dog Buffy stole a pile of chopped peanuts off of the kitchen counter. She felt really bad about it, but not bad enough to stop herself. It was her animal instinct that made her do it!

Animals are considered sinless by God for the simple fact that they are animals. They were not created in his image. They cannot receive the holy spirit. Nor can they worship. Therefore they cannot sin in the eyes of God.

if an animal sins, i don't think it knows it's sining when it's stealing another animals kill, survival of the fittest. period..when the apocalyptic holocaust gets a foot hold in our modern day society, the gangs will thrive and i don't think they will be worring about sin when they are murdering, raping, stealing.??

I'm going to have to disagree with pretty much all of this. Animals were not made in God's image? Does God have two legs, two arms and two monkey hands? Hmmmm... I think not.

As for animals inability to receive the Holy Spirit.. obviously, you've never been to my house on my dog's poker night. I swear, that mutt is such a holy roller he even turns that into a revival meeting.

But animals kill, steal, commit fornication, etc................. These are not sinful acts in the eyes of god?

Tell that to my pug...He loves to lie under my desk. I would be fine with that, but he is constantly farting...No matter how many times I tell him not to do it, he disobeys me....He is breaking the fifth commandment!.....

Another question: Why would god create animals who are supposedly sinless but have all kinds of behaviors that are considered sins if done by man?

Wouldn't it have been better, if animals do not sin and have no "original sin". that the animals act like it?

Interesting....I am an animal, I also doubt I was created in the "Poof, I am here sense" , much less in the image of a mythological god. I have certainly had more than my share of spirits and I absolutely do not worship any of the gods.....does this mean I am sin-less?????? If so....then.... I guess I've gotta try harder.
