Yes thats him. He was considered the strongest man in the world when he back-lifted 6,270 pounds ,more than any other human being.
He used his God-given strength and started evangelistic crusades where he would draw crowds by demonstrating his feats of power-lifting and then preaching thereafter. He preached at high schools, prisons, churches, ballparks and on the beach. He had 300 to 500 speaking engagements per year
Paul Anderson was born(1932) with Bright's disease(kidney failure) which almost took his life at the age of 4 years old.He was a scrawny kid and the doctor's told his parents to have him stay indoor and not to exert himself. He forbidded to listen to the doctors and pushed himself and bulked up to 180 pounds at the age of 14.He won a football scholarship to Furman University and then went on to win the gold medal in weight-lifting in the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne,Australia. It was the Olympics where he accepted Jesus Christ as is Lord and Savior on his final lift of the clean and jerk.He had been sick upon arrival with a temperature of 104 and had missed the first two attempts. His achievement of the Gold medal has not been duplicated by an American since then.
In 1961, he opened up the Paul Anderson Youth Home in Vidalia,Georgia for wayward and homeless boys. His website is PAYH.ORG.
Paul Anderson died in 1994 but the youth home lives on with his wife and only daughter as overseers. How the Lord worked in this man's life shows you how real He is when we just have faith in God.
