Notice the LOVE of money is the root of all evil not MONEY in of itself. Money is amoral - without morality. The issue is covetousness, greed, and trusting in riches as opposed to trusting in God.

The Scriptures endorse private property not socialism. Private ownership without covetousness freely giving what we have materially is utopia. The issue is S I N. Without sin the utopia is possible.

The reason why the Aquarian "New Age" promised world "utopia" is going to fail is because of our S I N.

Matthew 24

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Mankind will be on the brink of destroying itself prior to the return of the Messiah.

Presumably, people are happy giving it away because charity is a virtue, and they know they are doing the right thing. If you are interested, a man named Daniel Suelo graduated from college and then gave up money. He found a cave in Utah, on free land, put his last $30 in a phone booth, and decided to live off the land. He says living without money has made him happier, and predicts we will all become slaves to the dollar.

Here's a quote from the Abby Ellin article on him,
"One year he went to Alaska and worked on the docks. But that, too, he says, felt dishonest. Instead, he and a buddy decided to live off the land—spearing fish, foraging for mushrooms and berries. (Think Castaway, but with snow). Suelo (which means soil in Spanish) eventually hitch-hiked back to Moab with $50 in his pocket. By the time he arrived, his stash had dwindled to $25. He realized that he only needed money for things he really didn't need, like snacks and booze.
He began toying with the idea of living full-time without money. He traveled to India, and became fascinated by Hindu Sadhus, who wandered without lucre and possessions. He considered joining them, but then he realized that "A true test of faith would be to return to one of the most materialistic, money-worshipping nations on earth, to return to the authenticity profound principles of spirituality hidden beneath our own religion of hypocrisy, and be a Sadhu there," he said. "To be a vagabond, a bum, and make an art of it - this idea enchanted me."
And soon, that's exactly what he did. He says he left his life savings—a whopping $30—in a phone booth, and walked away.
But he didn't do it in a vacuum; he maintained his blog for free from the Moab public library. Rather than just sitting on a mountain and gazing at his navel, he wanted to have an impact on others, to spread his gospel."

Personally I don't think money is evil, it's just a tool for bartering services. As such, it can be used for good and evil. Since the stock market doesn't really service anyone in a meaningful way, it's fair to say most of Wall Street has become corrupted by money. The WFP has not been.
