Carnal defined by Webster's Dictionary - [L carn-, caro flesh] 1: bodily, corporeal 2 a: marked by sexuality b: relating to or given to crude bodily pleasures 3 a: temporal b: worldly
Trebek, it would appear that my post is totally germane to the question, and the part about gay marriage is only to illustrate a valid point about the definition of marriage.
Since you posted while I was editing, here's some parts that you missed:
I know a couple who have been living together for years who aren't married and yet have a child, and they have a relationship that's about as committed as some married people have, maybe even more than some. So, is it a legal document or a monogamous commitment that legitimizes "carnal gratification"?
Legal document. Period. Sorry to be so blunt this morning. I have a bad cold and I'm blaming any and all crankiness this week on that!
My origional point about 14 hours ago was :"why brag about smoking, drinking, or sexual preference". And it turned in to a fecieum of Caca!
Hell, I backed the gays getting into heaven and still do!
I was way less anti-gay this morning...
I never stated my sexual preference in this thread, I have a wife and 3 boys. That must be because you made at least 2 mistakes, you thought that I was gay and that I was posting off topic. Well, you're wrong on both counts.
Then you want to continue on with your mistaken assumption and defensively post how pro-gay that you are.
Even the unmarried couple with a child that I spoke of isn't gay.
You owe me an apology, but I really don't care whether you want to admit to it or not.

Ok Sun here goes: I am sorry for making assumptions about you.
I was attacked repeatly on several posts last night by homosexuals, and I thought I was pretty fair with them. I wrongly assumed that you were another one.
Now I have a low opinion of the group, but will try to keep that from clouding my judgement when I meet gay people on the street. I really dislike militant activists with agendas. I guess what you recieved was a result of my exasperation. Sorry.
I am now officially anti-gay. I believe it's a terrible sin. And it's really a disgusting habit, that few (if any) were born with.

If carnal lust were a sin, then couples who couldn't have children (straight, infertile couples) would be sinners because they would be having sex for sexual gratification.
That's why I believe as long as two adults are consulting, it's not a sin.
